Apologies, Explanation

My apologies to my fellow bloggers, I will not be able to make tonight’s hoe-down.

I’m in the final stages of the banquet planning for this Saturday. I have to meet with the hall banquet people and go over the final stats as far as how many people will attend (I’m still getting RSVP’s even though the cut of for RSVP’s was last Saturday.) the amount of food, where certain aspects of the ceremony will take place, table configurations, among other items. I also have to print final rosters of those attending along with 2 sets of name tags, one for existing members, and one for new members).

We should have about 150-160 total people attending.

Again, my deepest apologies to my fellow bloggers. Please feel free to discuss my awesomeness behind my back. If you were waiting to make a decision on whether or not I was going to attend, because you think I’m a complete moron, and you don’t want to be around me. Then please, do attend. If you were only going to go if I was going then I think you should attend. Most of us bloggers are good people that shower daily, and use deodorant. (Except for
Emaw, he smells like feet).

Weekend Fun

Friday night I just chilled out at the house. Saturday The EYE-talian, Scooter, his wife, and I, (The D) went to the KU game at the Sprint Center.

Scooter scored some tix from someone that had VIP tickets to the Founders Room.

The beers were 7 BUCKS!!

Best 7 dollar beer EVAR!

On to the game! These 2 picks were taken one after the other. This one is not zoomed in at all (yea were way the fuck up there but they were kind enough to hand out free oxygen masks.)

And this one is taken right after with the FULL ZOOM!!

Doesn't that zoom just kick ass! (This is where you can insert your own joke about a zoom lens and my penis.)

Here I am concentrating on either the game or the cheerleaders or both. It was cold in the Sprint Area so I kept my scarf on the whole game.

And what kind of blogger would I be if I went to a sporting event and didn't include some cheerleader picks? Here ya, go your welcome;

That spot is some jerks bald head.

Here are some random game actions shots: HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!

Time out, Bill wants to talk this over.

Darrell Arthur at the line.

After the ass whipping we put on Ohio the 4 of us head over to McFadden's for some tasty libations.

These are random peeps.

I probably just said something inappropriate to some random chick. Oh, well!

After Mcfadden's we headed to Westport where Scooter dropped the EYE-Tailian and I off at Kelly's. I was rocking the Escalade!

We had one drink at Kelly's then we headed to the Point. Where I my buddy B.C. was working. We had a bunch of drinks there. Then The EYE-talian had to go cause he was wasted. I then headed down to J.J's to crashed a G.N.O that some of my pals were having. It made their night that I showed up.

When I got there Abby started yelling at me b/c I was "apparently" wearing my scarf wrong. So my new pal Baywatch fixed it.

I really don't know whats up with these faces I'm making.

No I wasn't drunk at ALL!

Anyway Peace out my Homies!

Busy, Snowy Saturday

I have a boat load of stuff to do today like hitting the Walgreens, and Kansas Sampler, and the grocery store, shoveling the sidewalk and driveway and finish putting up the Christmas lights, among others. After I just finished 4 hours at work. I went in at 6 this morning b/c I couldn't sleep with the snow falling and making all that noise on the roof... (?)

Anyway..., I'm putting in the O.T. so I can take some monster PTO starting Friday.

Here are some picks of the snow that came last night. Notice that the street still hasn't been plowed or treated and it's already 10 am, WTF?

From the front door.

From the back door.

Y'all have a nice weekend. I'll be out tonight. So, say hello if ya see me.

Weekend Stalker Update

This weekend will be a pretty good one, I've been looking forward to it for a few weeks now. Friday night Mr. Awesome and I are going down to McFadden's in the Power and Light District to see a local band called The Zero's. You've probably seen them at The Brooksider, or Raoul's Velvet Room. They always bring in the hot chicks so it should be fun. Plus, they're some other bars that will be or are opening that night in the P&L District, so if it sucks we can hit some other bars.

Saturday is the main event for the weekend. It's our November birthday group party and the last of my 3 birthday parties. Where a bunch of my buddies and pals get together to celebrate our birthdays, Scooter, Scooters wife, Harley Dude, Mrs. Awesome (Mr. Awesome's wife), Red, The Queen, and The Hottie, and The D, were all born in Nov of 1970, (best year ever!) well at least most of use were born in 1970, a couple weren't but that's no big deal. We have a private room at a restaurant all to our selves and our own private bar. Then it will be off to Westport, I think, for some more tasty libations! Your welcome to join us out in Westport but you'll have to check the twitter updates for where ever we go, it might not even be in Westport. The after dinner binge drinking location has not been officially announced yet.

Sunday, it's couch day for the Chiefs game.

Those are my weekend plans. What are yours?

P.S. Is this Birthday stuff redonkulous or what? I love it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE D!

Look at that sexy sum-bitch right there. Holy Shit! That is one heart breaking S-O-B, right there. And how sexy is that outfit? Can I get any sexier? I think not!

Look at that muscular definition on his baby fat encrusted arms and legs. How turned on are you right now? And those shoes! Are those Zipps!? WOW!! I was a trend setter even when there were not trends!

Look at that those dark deep sensual brown eyes that seem to say, don't worry young lass I won't hurt you...much.

Are you as creeped out as I am right now?

So yea today is my 37th birthday, but I think I can pull off 28 or 26. What do you think?

I include this one from last nights blogger meet up, cause it makes me laugh.

Here are some Birthday tunes for you.

Coming Up This Week

This week will be really busy for me at the office. Monday I have a 100% submittal due to the customer. I'm also having lunch with our Board of Directors. Or I should say all the company veterans are having lunch with them. But I'm telling everyone that it's just me so they think I'm sort of a big deal (which as we all know I totes am) I'm hoping for a free tee shirt out of the gig too. All over our buildings, or at least in my building, I would assume they would be in the other buildings too, are these posters with a group shot or all of us veterans.

Last week I was put in charge of all the CAD work that is required for the renovations we are doing in our building. Some more divisions are moving over here and now we have a lease on the entire building. Before my division only occupied the 2nd and 3rd floors. The problem is that there is a lot of work to do and only 4 days to do it so I'll be working a lot of overtime this week. Which sucks because my birthday is Wednesday, have I mentioned that?

Tuesday is the Blogger meet up at McCoy's. Wednesday is dinner with the family.

Thursday I'm off work, and hope to buy a new winter coat. I'm looking for a good leather one like one of these.

Which is your choice? Don't like any of them? Have other suggestions? Let me know in the comments or email your suggestions them to me.

Friday is the submittal for our building renovations.

Saturday, is another birthday party for me. Let me explain, the majority of my friends were born in November so every year for the past six or seven years we have all gotten together to have one big bash. Last year we had it at the Bulldog, one year we reserved the entire upper floor of the Grandfalloon on the Plaza. We also used to have it the day before Thanksgiving but as people get older and start having more kids it got to be too much of a hassle to try to get everyone together while still keeping there own family obligations. We usually have about 25-30 people there but since we moved it they will probably be even this year.

Did you know this was my 400th post? So YAY!

Weekend Plans

I don't have much time to get this out so I won't elaborate on the plans.

Friday-Dinner with the fam, clothes shopping, binge drinking.

Saturday-bartending at Reggies cousins wedding. Which should be fun because I have no idea what I'm doing. Guess I'll just drink the mistakes.

Sunday-Chiefs game.

Today's Darukah gift: A kick-ass ecard from Spyder and an obscene cupcake from Erin.

Ya'll have a nice weekend. Beware of the drunk text! They'll get cha'

Weekend Shenanigans

Friday night I have a house party (not the blogger party) to go to, it’s supposed to be a costume party, but because I’m a rebel, and I march to the beat of my own drum. I’m not wearing one. We’ll at least one that doesn’t take a lot of effort.

It’s an orange tee shirt that says “Costume” in black letters. Then underneath that, on my chest I’m going to write in black permanent marker “Fuckin’ Costume.” But I bet no one sees that.

Saturday is lawn work, and that night is my mom’s birthday, probably just dinner somewhere that the SIL plans out.

Sunday will be TV all freakin’ day. And a shit load of sleeping.

Lame weekend I know but I've been hitting it hard for the past few weeks and I need to recharge before the Nov 10 weekend? What’s going on then, you ask? Well first of all it’s the Marine Corps Birthday, second it’s
MY FREAKING BIRTHDAY! (Although I don’t think I’m going to have 3 parties this year, I was hung-over until March.)So if you have plans that Saturday Night you better cancel them. I have a 10K that morning and the par-taing will start right after.

Ya'll have a good one, and thanks for reading.

THAT's a Complement?

I work for a company that does work for foreign governments. You don't need to know any more than that. But I do have to have certain federal clearances to do some of those projects. Like when I first started here 3 years ago I went though a whole 6 month federal background check. (Yes I passed!)

So, once in a while they do these random security checks, where the security guards (we call them Barney Fighfs) walk around randomly checking ID's. Anyway, I was walking out of the building today around 6 PM and ran into one of these "Fighfs". Barney asked for my ID, which I wear on a lanyard around my neck. I surrender my ID, looks at it, (it has a picture of me on it along with my employee number and name, I think, I really don't know), looks at me, looks at it, looks at me, back and forth for a few seconds and this is our exchange:

"Is this your ID?" Security guard says.

"Yes?" I say with a question like I was really answering "Yea, you dumb fuck, HELLO! It looks exactly like me."

SG: What's you employee number?"

The D: "Bla bla"

SG: "Have you changed your appearance since this picture was taken?"

The D: "No"

SG: "You haven't changed your appearance AT ALL?"

The D: "No, I haven't." (I know better than to mess with people that can effect my employment. I keep my answers short and to the point. Just like I do with the cops.)

SG: "You haven't been in an accident recently, have you? Since, this picture was taken?"

The D: (Getting agitated) "NO, smart-ass! Can I go now I have to get somewhere!" (my usual Wednesday night fantasy football meeting.)

SG: "What division do you work for?"

The D: rolling eyes "Oh Jesus, I work for Bla bla bla. My boss is yada, yada. I've been here over 3 years!" (Completely losing all respect for "Barney Fighf" which in hindsight wasn't in cool.)

SG: "What's your position?

The D: "Besides the feeing that I'm about to get bent over right now? I design mechanical systems"

SG: This pic looks nothing like you. Please follow me?"

The D: "Are you kidding me? Look chief", (when I'm irritated or kind of pissed I call people chief or Sasquatch) "that picture is me, it has been for 3 years. I can answer any question you have about me or this company."

SG: "Come with me, please"

We go to the security desk.

SG: "What's you managers extension?"

The D: "Bla bla"

He calls my boss, no answer.

SG: "Who is your department manager, what's his extension?"

The D: "Yada yada"

SG: (while it's ringing Barney says to me.) "If I can't get a hold of anyone that can verify your employment I have to call the feds"

The D: Thinking "THE FUCKING FEDS!! HOLY SHIT" (I think. "I hope they're hot chicks and want to strip search me, YEA-OUSA!")

SG: Hi, this is "Barney Fighf", downstairs. Do you have a Darren Jones (not my real last name) working for you? Huh, have you seen him today? Umm, can you describe him to me, please?"

I can't hear what my boss is saying. I can only assume he knows me especially, since I just told him the whole dealio, about the race last Saturday not more than 4 hour before.

SG: "Oh, He's lost weight?"

BOO-YA!! That's the money shot ya'll! (I'll get you a towel.)

SG: "How much? Really 85 lbs?" Barney is still on the phone with my boss.

The D: "AHEM! Hello, can I go now?"

SG: "O.k thank you, have a nice day" Barney hangs up the phone.

The D : (Looking like I just won the lottery) "Yea, told ya!"

SG: "You need to get a new ID. Congratulations on the weight loss. How did you do it?"

The D: "Can I go now?"

SG: "Sure, sorry about the hold up. You look great, by the way?"

The D: (Thinking WTF? Looking back as I walked away, and totally weirded out, and kind of dirty, as I walked away.) As I got though the door I stopped and walked back in and said "You know they're other ways to meet people besides abusing your authority to do it."

SG: "Yea, but it wouldn't be as fun."

The D: "Just for that, I'm not giving you my number, you're going to have to abuse your authority to get it."

SG: (picking up a piece of paper) "Home address bla bla, home phone, bla bla"

The D: REALLY CREAPED THE FUCK OUT NOW! Thinking RUN YOU FOOL RUN GREAT RAVENS GHOST RUNNNNNNN!!! SHE'S GOING TO BOIL YOUR BUNNIES (I don't have bunnies but you get the analogy) But like a jackass I say "You better call before you show up, or your not getting in, I hate the pot-in." Whispering under my breath as I walking out "bring the cuffs"

SG: "Can I bring the cuffs?" She shouts.

I then run to my car and almost piss myself out of the shier terror of the whole awkwardness of the situation.

Did I mention that this Barney was a woman? I just hope she looks better in civilian clothes that she does in uniform.

I'm taking bets (no odds or points): Will she show before the end of the month? I say no, she'll chicken out.

Weekend Update

Good evening everyone and welcome to my Weekend Update post where I regale you with exciting stories and happenings from my weekends. These weekend update post seem to be my most popular. I get the most hits on Mondays (and Fridays). I bet ya'll like to sit around your office and discuss what I did or what I should've done and laugh at my misfortune. I like to think that you're just jealous that I'm more awesome than you. Whateva!

Lets get right to this shall we?

Friday I stayed home and caught up with all of the TV that I missed during the week, because I worked a lot of overtime last week. After doing that I set up a Twitter account. So now I can update both my status's (statsui?) on this blog and my Facebook. Which I think is pretty cool. You can follow, i.e. stalk me, on twitter and have text messages sent to your cell whenever I update my status. Or you can do nothing and like it.

Saturday was the Pub Crawl for Cancer. This is my third and I would have to say my most memorable, (mostly because it was yesterday.) We started at the Westport Flea Market, where we watched Iowa beat Illinois, and since most of my team was made up of girls from Iowa they were all pretty happy about their win. But none wanted to celebrate by taking off their shirts. One of them said "We won a football game, not the National fucking Championship." To which I replied "So if it was the National Championship you would take off your shirt?" "Yup" she said. Then the subject was quickly changed before it got really awkward.

The team consisted of me and 2 other dudes. One dude had his girlfriend on the team. So that meant it was just going to be me and one other dude hitting on these Iowa girls. As far as the girls go only only 2 lived in Kansas City.

The Team

It was raining when we left that bar and headed to the tent that was set up across the street from The Beaumont Club, consumed our five pitchers, then headed to a new bar in Westport called The Piano Bar. It's in the same spot that the old Cactus Café was located. This is the first bar of its kind in Kansas City that I know of, it's commonly known as "dueling piano bar". If you haven't been to this type of bar you're missing out on a good time. They basically get 2 super douche bags that know how to play the piano and can kind of sing, throw them in front of a piano and tell them to play your standard drunk party songs like, Love Shack, Sweet Caroline, Margaritaville, just to name a few. It's good time.

The D

Jello shots at Piano Bar

Why would this be closed?

Then we made our way to the Buzzard Beach, or the Buzz as I like to call it. This is where the drunk texting started and continued until late into the morning hours. I also got a call from my buddy Optumis Prime which I was not expecting. After we hit all of the bars on our list we went to the Beaumont Club for the after party and more beer.

Crazy PACKED!

I took over 50 pictures but I'm not about to post them all here. Plus I'm going to try to get to bed before one tonight so I'll just let the pic do the talking. Here's just a few.

Pretty sure I was holding up the whole team so I had to chug!! I'm not kidding, I drank that whole pitcher. But I didn't "chug" the whole thing.

If you notice on my shirt has no spillage, that's cause I know what I'm doing.

At the after party at the Beaumont Club. Everyone else was in line for the bathroom.

After the after Party we went to the dark Horse for some shots and Power Hour.

Salu!

Why aren't they drinking?

Andi (from Iowa)

If you haven't ever done this pub crawl you really should it a good time.

Sunday I watched the Chiefs win and then took a nap.

Have a nice week. And thanks for reading.

Weekend Plans for you Stalkers and Lurkers

This weekend will be pretty great. I've been looking forward to it for awhile now.

Friday I'm doing this*:

Saturday I'm going on the Crawl For Cancer with a group of about 10-12 people on our team. I will know probably 4 people and the rest are girls from out of town. (SWEET!) I will be drinking ALOT of beer and probably doing even more drunk texting, so if you want on the list send me your phone number (single women over 21 only).

Sunday, as with all Sundays, I will be on the couch watching the Chiefs game and wishing I had more left over pizza.

Ya'll have a nice weekend.

Update

You know what I haven't done for a while?

I haven't updates my weight in my profile for about 4 or 5 months. I shall do that post haste!

I'm going from 172 down to 165. It pretty much kicks all ass!

I haven't been 165 since I graduated high school. Which was in 1989. That's 18 years ago peeps! (I'm NOT old your just too young for me to constantly hit on.)

I'm gonna be at my moms sometime this weekend maybe I can get a scan a copy of my graduation pic. Then you all can compare the then and now pics.

That should make you Stalkers happy.

FANTASTIC!

I feel FANTASTIC today! I don't know why and I can't explain it.

Maybe its...

the fact that we had the high score in my Tanners fantasy footabll leauge this week? And will win a boat load of cash which we will spend on celabratory beers tonight, cause our team is crappy?

the fact that I got a crappy hair cut last night and really just don't care?

because I am down another 2 pounds?

or the fact that I ran 8 miles in 1:25 (one hour twenty five min) Monday night non-stop and I'm no longer sore?

Or the fact that my birthday is 41 days away and the pre to the pre-planning has begun? (Has your shopping begun?)

Or the fact that I need to work over time in order to get these plans done by next wednesday?

becasue I downloaded some new tunes to the Ipod and I'm rockin out right now?

or the fact that KU is going to stomp K-State this weekend?

becasue I'm looking forward to the blogger meeting tommorrow night at Charlie Hoppers in Brookside, and that I will be there between 6 and 6:30.

Or that my favorite movie series had a new installment coming out October 26th.

Stalker Update

For you stalkers.

It's Saturday night and I have a date...

I'll wait while you pick yourself up off the floor...

We're back...

We'll be strapping on the feed bags at The Capital Grill. Then she plans on "Getting me drunk and taking advantage of me".

Her words not mine.

I pick her up at 9 so I'm just killing time right now.

The weekend update post should be pretty interesting.
