Not what you expect

This is not going to be a post about how great it was to watch KU beat Virginia Tech in the Orange bowl last night. (Although it was.) Because I'm not a person that'll gloat about it. I will talk all the shit that anybody wants to, but when my team wins, I won't rub it in your face. That's what Missouri does and it's totally classless.

But what does bother me is when Kansans root AGAINST fellow Kansans. (Don't give me that crap about "The friend of my enemy is still my friend" bullshit.) You KSU Alumni, students, and boosters, should have been rooting for Kansas last night. When y'all root for anyone that's playing against Kansas, or when the Kansas populous root for anyone that plays against K-State for that matter, is really shame, and it hits my feeling. We Kansans need to stick together and develop some pride in our state.

When I was in the Marine Corps I would always get some lame ass line from those hillbilly backwater fucks from Texas about Kansas being a lame state. I'd always tell them that if Kansans wanted to, we could easily take over the United States. Or the fact that if the U.S.A. were to be invaded the invasion would come from the gulf because Texans couldn't hit the sky with an M-16 if they aimed it straight up. Then they would get pissed and I have to punch them in the face and stand over them yelling "Who's the tougher state now Fuckhead!"

But I'm getting off the subject here. What I'm trying to say is when the KSU population root for Missouri. When KU plays Mizzou, in any sport, you're basically giving your approval for SLAVERY!

And I know you wouldn't want to do that.

So, lets get over all the name calling and the hate fullness that was the '07 football season. And put forth all of our hated of each others schools towards the basketball season and those douche bags from Missouri.

Good luck to all of you, because you will need it. ROCK CAULK JAYHAWK GO KU!!!

Collecting Debts

Today Emaw is paying a his debt to me. This bet stems from a wager that we'd agreed upon back in October. I will not get into all the sordid little details of who bet what and all that jazz, because I was probably wasted at the time but I do remember that it did involve, a few nekked ladies, and some sort of measuring device, at least that is how I remember it. Either way he lost. So today I'm over there defiling his blog. So go check it out.

I have one more bet to collect and hope to have that finished my the end of the year.

Well Crap

This weekend was complete CRAP! I had 4 days off and don't have jack to show for it, except a sore back and shoulders and mountains of embarrassment. The longer I stay up tonight the more and more pissed off I get at myself for being so unproductive over those 4 days.

Last years Thanksgiving was good but this years totally blew as far as sports teams go, first the Jayhawks get rolled, then the Chiefs get whipped by the worst team in the league. Tonight the Kansas basketball team had to take Arizona into overtime to get the win.

Saturday night the EYE-talian and I went to see a friends band play at Mikes Westsider on Westport road. The band is called The Sunshine Destroyers, with a name like that you'd think they were a Kiss tribute band or some other hard rocking 80's metal band. Well you'd be wrong, they are NOT a hard rocking 80's band but, they are a good band. You should check them out.

After they closed at 1:30 we walked back to my house. The EYE-talian took off, and that is when it all went down hill (if it could get any worse with Kansas losing that night.) There's nothing worst in this world than a drunken smart-ass with a cell phone home alone drinking. It's a complete clishe (yea, that's probably spelled wrong, but I know someone will correct me.)

Anyway I sent out some pretty lame drunken text messages. (this is where the mountains of embarrassment come in) Some people that were lucky enough to receive them were pissed, because it woke them up at 4 am, some were like "MEH, It's The D that's what he does." Others didn't get them until they woke up the next morning and thought they were funny. But the vast majority of the people that I talked too today told me that the 4 am texting is getting old and I should probably stop it.

So I will, at least for the week, but I'm not guaranteeing any thing.

I'm pretty worn out so I'm hitting the hay right now.
Thanks for reading.
Peace!

Weekend Wrap Up With The D

Friday after having dinner with the family at moms for her birthday I went to Joseph A. Banks at Oak Park Mall. I know I told everyone that I was going to go to Men's Warehouse but on the advice of C-boy and his wife I decided to make a command decision and go with some place I had never been, plus I knew they were having a sale. I try on three pairs of pants and decide to go with the 34" waist. But I wear a 32-33 in jeans so I'm like WTF, yo? Apparently there is no universal size chart when it comes to men's clothes either, so you women aren't the only ones that have to keep track of what size you wear from different designers or stores. I used to wear a 38-40 in dress slacks now I wear a 34" waist. Even though I don't like the pleated slacks I did get 2 pairs (thinking the pleated pants look nicer when I'm wearing a tie, which I have to do 4 days a week for work.) I also got one pair of flat front pants that I wore to the wedding the next day. All three had to be tailored for the length, but I had them put a rush on the flat fronts because I wanted to wear them to the wedding on Saturday.

Then we move on to the shirts I tell the dude that I used to be a 18 1/2"/34-35 before I lost 85 pounds in 14 months. He bust out his tape and then says that I am now a 17"/33. (If you didn't know the first number is the neck size and the second is the length from the wrist to the middle of your back just above the shoulder blades.) So that means that I've lost 1 1/2" off my neck, and 2" off my sleeve length. (Because I've lost 85 pounds in 14 months.) I start digging though the shirts for some colors to go with the pants that I was going to wear the next day. While I'm bent over another salesman comes over and says "Where did you get those jeans." "Umm, I bought them at Banana Republic last march. They're now a little too lose now.", I say. "Na, they look alright." He replies back. I didn't realize it, until I was on my way out of the mall, but I think he was hitting on me. (EW.) At least I think he was, what straight dude would complement another dude about his pants? But I'm totally counting it as a Darukah gift for Friday.

Another unexpected surprise happened when I was checking out. The guy (the one that was helping me not the one hitting on me) asked me where I worked and if we had a corporate account. I told him where I worked and apparently we do have a corporate account which saved me another 20% off the already sale price. YESSS! BONUS!!

Saturday Mr. Awesome and I manned a martini bar at Reggie's cousins wedding reception. I was apprehensive in agreeing to do this when I was first asked because I have never tended bar or anything like that before, but once I got all of the details I agreed to do it. I knew the bride from playing kickball last fall. The evening went off with out a hitch she had left us with all the supplies and instructions on how to make them and how much of each ingredient goes in each one. We only had the supplies for 3 different martinis, Apple, (commonly known as a Appletini), a Cosmopolitan, and a Hawaiian Sea Breeze. The Apple and the Hawaiian were the most popular. But after a few hours of doing it correctly we just started pouring just about any thing in to them. She paid us 50 bucks plus the 10 bucks in tips we made. After the reception we meet up with the EYE-talian at Johnny's on Shawnee Mission Parkway. Mr. Awesome called it quits and The EYE-talian and I cam back to my house and drank all my beer, where we argued about it being the end of daylight savings time I said it was not he said it was, I lost the argument. I then sent out a drunken text message to just about everyone I know. If you got it congratulations, if you didn't then I guess it sucks to be you.

Sunday, I watched the Chiefs lose to the Packers. Speaking of fudge packers what the hell has happened to Nebraska football? And to KSU for that matter? Don't even get me started on Notre Dame. But as long as the Jayhawks win I'm happy. That KU-Neb game was an absolute blow out! 76-39? Did Nebraska even show up for the game. Did you know that that score is the highest combined score in the history of the Big 12? Did you also know that Kansas is now ranked #4 in the BCS? I'm not gonna bag on KSU because you only lost by 11 points, and I don't want some of you dudes to start crying again.

Darukah Gifts: Friday night was the clothes. And getting hit on by some dude. Saturday was a e-card from Spyder (she's totally kicking all your asses on the Darukah gifts people! Ya'll really need to step it up!! Did I tell you this was a competition? No? Good, cause it's not.) I also got a couple of beers from the EYE-talian, and Mr. Awesome. Sunday, I bought myself an egg McMuffin from Mickey D's. And Abby sent me a song.

Have a nice week Ya'll! Thanks for reading.

Weekend Update With The D

This weekend it was finally nice to have virtually nothing planned, and I took full advantage of it.

Friday night I went to the lamest house party in the history of house parties. (It was NOT the blogger party). This party was so lame that I can't even begin to describe the depth of its lameness. Lets just say that I was home and in bed by 11. Yea, it was that lame.

Saturday began what I like to call the "Man's Weekend", nothing but manual labor and a few minor cuts to the legs and hands. Pure man stuff I tells ya! I started the day with a nice hearty meal of flapjacks, scrambled eggs, and bacon. I make a mean stack of flapjacks just so ya know, the eggs were just perfect. I then began my quest to mow the lawn which I had not done in what seamed like 2 months. It was seriously tall. I think I may have ran over a 305 Chevy engine block and a village of a long lost forgotten tribe of Filipino nationals. Saturday night I watched the Kansas Jayhawks put a whipping on Texas A&M. I also want to tell all you KSU grads that I think you should be arrested for murder. Because ya'll killed Baylor.

Then I caught up on all the episodes of Heroes that I had missed along with episodes of Chuck, and the Bionic Woman (Seriously is Michelle Ryan hot or what? Probably the hottest woman in a new TV show this season. That, and she reminds me of someone but I have no clue who.)

Sunday I went over to Moms and mowed her lawn, racked her leaves, and cleaned out her gutters, and gave her some basic computer knowledge, because I'm an awesome son and her favorite son. She then told me that I was too thin and to get some new clothes.

Moms, ya gotta love 'em

I then came home returned some phone calls that I missed and now I'm doing this. Now since this is done I'm going to either watch baseball and fall asleep on the couch or watch more shows that are stored in my DVR.

Peace out ya'll have a nice week and thanks for reading.

Weekend Update

Good evening everyone and welcome to my Weekend Update post where I regale you with exciting stories and happenings from my weekends. These weekend update post seem to be my most popular. I get the most hits on Mondays (and Fridays). I bet ya'll like to sit around your office and discuss what I did or what I should've done and laugh at my misfortune. I like to think that you're just jealous that I'm more awesome than you. Whateva!

Lets get right to this shall we?

Friday I stayed home and caught up with all of the TV that I missed during the week, because I worked a lot of overtime last week. After doing that I set up a Twitter account. So now I can update both my status's (statsui?) on this blog and my Facebook. Which I think is pretty cool. You can follow, i.e. stalk me, on twitter and have text messages sent to your cell whenever I update my status. Or you can do nothing and like it.

Saturday was the Pub Crawl for Cancer. This is my third and I would have to say my most memorable, (mostly because it was yesterday.) We started at the Westport Flea Market, where we watched Iowa beat Illinois, and since most of my team was made up of girls from Iowa they were all pretty happy about their win. But none wanted to celebrate by taking off their shirts. One of them said "We won a football game, not the National fucking Championship." To which I replied "So if it was the National Championship you would take off your shirt?" "Yup" she said. Then the subject was quickly changed before it got really awkward.

The team consisted of me and 2 other dudes. One dude had his girlfriend on the team. So that meant it was just going to be me and one other dude hitting on these Iowa girls. As far as the girls go only only 2 lived in Kansas City.

The Team

It was raining when we left that bar and headed to the tent that was set up across the street from The Beaumont Club, consumed our five pitchers, then headed to a new bar in Westport called The Piano Bar. It's in the same spot that the old Cactus Café was located. This is the first bar of its kind in Kansas City that I know of, it's commonly known as "dueling piano bar". If you haven't been to this type of bar you're missing out on a good time. They basically get 2 super douche bags that know how to play the piano and can kind of sing, throw them in front of a piano and tell them to play your standard drunk party songs like, Love Shack, Sweet Caroline, Margaritaville, just to name a few. It's good time.

The D

Jello shots at Piano Bar

Why would this be closed?

Then we made our way to the Buzzard Beach, or the Buzz as I like to call it. This is where the drunk texting started and continued until late into the morning hours. I also got a call from my buddy Optumis Prime which I was not expecting. After we hit all of the bars on our list we went to the Beaumont Club for the after party and more beer.

Crazy PACKED!

I took over 50 pictures but I'm not about to post them all here. Plus I'm going to try to get to bed before one tonight so I'll just let the pic do the talking. Here's just a few.

Pretty sure I was holding up the whole team so I had to chug!! I'm not kidding, I drank that whole pitcher. But I didn't "chug" the whole thing.

If you notice on my shirt has no spillage, that's cause I know what I'm doing.

At the after party at the Beaumont Club. Everyone else was in line for the bathroom.

After the after Party we went to the dark Horse for some shots and Power Hour.

Salu!

Why aren't they drinking?

Andi (from Iowa)

If you haven't ever done this pub crawl you really should it a good time.

Sunday I watched the Chiefs win and then took a nap.

Have a nice week. And thanks for reading.

Weekend Update With The D

Welcome to the Weekend Update with The D

Hello folks I’m The D and you’re Not! (that joke never gets old)

This weekend was all about the family. I had two birthday parties to attend, one was my nieces’ 3rd birthday party on Saturday, and the other was my Grandmothers 90th birthday party on Sunday.

Saturday started off awesome with me waking up with a massive woody smile on my face. I knew today would be a good day, nay a great day! After KU beat the piss out of the Wildcats from KSU, I headed over to C-boy’s house for my nieces 3rd birthday party. My Aunt from Boise, Idaho is in town, her and my mother grilled me about who I was or was not dating. I made the mistake of telling them that I was dating, but no one that they needed to know about. Well, that went over like a fart in church! Then the inquisition began with questions like what’s her name? What does she do for a living? Is she cute? What do her parents do? Does she have big boobs? Is she a virgin? She better be a virgin! What about the blow jobs are they good? I swear I was in an Italian movie nightmare. I could have avoided the whole interrogation by just saying “No” when they asked if I was dating anyone.

Here are some picks from the party.

This is me telling my mom that her questions are TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE!

I can't believe I'm getting asked these questions. (but my hair looks GREAT!)

Sophia is in the center. (How many juice boxes can these kids drink?)

OPPS! How did these pics of Sophia cheering for KU get in here?

ROCK!

CHALK!

JAYHAWKS!

On Sunday after the Chiefs were murdered at home I went out to my mom’s house for my Grandmothers 90th Birthday party. I avoided the whole conversation about my awesome single life just to make sure I did not have to go through that horror show again.

Here I am with my grandmother in her stunna shades!

I am currently compiling a video of some stuff I shot on Sunday with my camera and hope to have it uploaded tomorrow night. (I’m having some trouble with the rendering)

Back to the pics!

C-boys youngest Isabelle (Izzy)

More Sophia!

Z-man and The D (Sounds like a detective show doesn't it?)

GRRRR!!!!

Sophia and her cousin Zach

With KU beating KSU this weekend I had the same bets with 3 different bloggers. The bet was that if KSU won then EMAW (from Three O’Clock the Morning), Chimpo (from Chimpotle), and Nightmare (from Smells like Bullshit), (btw all three are KSU alumni) would write a post and I would post it here on my blog or they would be “guest bloggers” as we call them. If KU won then I would get to write a post for their blogs. As I stated above I won the bet so now I have to write 3 different post with 3 different topics for those 3 blogs. Plus keep entertaining ya’ll on this here blog. Come to think of it I really don’t think I really won this bet. But I will comply with the bet and I will write the post (and they will be ASS KICKIN post) and email them to those authors when I get them done. Is there a time limit on this? None was discussed with me at post time.

Thanks for reading! Come back for that video tomorrow, you wont be disappointed.

JAYHAWKS WIN!!

The Kansas Jayhawks just defeated the hated K-State Wildcats 30-24. I had a few bets on this game so I will be looking for my "payments" in the near future. At work I will be collecting about 200 bucks from various K-State alumni.

I'm not one to gloat and kick a person when they're down. So that is all I'm gonna say about that.

Now I have to get to my nieces 3rd birthday party.

Peace out Ya'll!!

CHALLENGE ISSUED! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

I have just been issued a challenge by Emaw. To you kind Sir I accept your challenge and look forward to watching The Jawhawks beat the pussy cats.

And to the rest of you K-Staters I also extend the challenge to you. You have until 11 .a.m Saturday to accept said challenge. That is if you are man enough.

(Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to compile a list of why KU will beat KSU, because I have a job that has deadlines that must be met and shit like that!)

FANTASTIC!

I feel FANTASTIC today! I don't know why and I can't explain it.

Maybe its...

the fact that we had the high score in my Tanners fantasy footabll leauge this week? And will win a boat load of cash which we will spend on celabratory beers tonight, cause our team is crappy?

the fact that I got a crappy hair cut last night and really just don't care?

because I am down another 2 pounds?

or the fact that I ran 8 miles in 1:25 (one hour twenty five min) Monday night non-stop and I'm no longer sore?

Or the fact that my birthday is 41 days away and the pre to the pre-planning has begun? (Has your shopping begun?)

Or the fact that I need to work over time in order to get these plans done by next wednesday?

becasue I downloaded some new tunes to the Ipod and I'm rockin out right now?

or the fact that KU is going to stomp K-State this weekend?

becasue I'm looking forward to the blogger meeting tommorrow night at Charlie Hoppers in Brookside, and that I will be there between 6 and 6:30.

Or that my favorite movie series had a new installment coming out October 26th.

Quick Note

Just a quick note before I start the usual push for this submittal (which means 12 hour days, 6 days a week) I have due on Friday the 12th. Congratulations to the Kansas State Wildcats and alumni for beating the most over rated team in the country the Texas Longhorns.

But before you start thinking you’re some National Championship contender, I want you to think back to last season…

You also beat Texas, but do you remember what happened next? You got rolled by 2 touchdowns by Kansas Jayhawks the following week!

Just a helpful reminder.

Good luck to ya, you’re gonna need it.
