Snow day?

I have a rule on snow days. If the majority of the schools that I attended, while growing up in K.C.K, are closed then I’m calling sick to work.

I forgot to check the news before I left for work. I usually check 5-10 min of local news just to see if there are any accidents on my route to the office.

So, now I’m at work and I just checked the list of over 150 school closings in the
Kansas City Metropolitan Area (a.k.a. KC metro, or “The Metro, if you will). Imagine my surprise when I see not one, but ALL of the schools that I attended, Wyandotte County Catholic Schools, (Christ the King, and Bishop Ward) KCKCC, and JCCC, are all canceled today.

What is up with that? When I was in grade school, at Christ the King, we never and I mean NEVER, EVER had school canceled. (We did one day in grade school but that was because the boiler busted and there wasn’t any heat.) Even in the blizzard of ’78 we still had school.

We didn’t take the bus our parents drove us and some other kids from the ‘hood. My mother is a terrible driver. I won’t let her drive when we go somewhere together, which I avoid at all cost. She is so bad… (this is where you say… “How bad is she?”) My mother is such a bad driver that my younger brother C-boy once fell out of the car WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING. (Which is a hilarious story, I’ll have to tell you some time.)

But, if we did have a snow day I can guaran-fuckin’-tee you Dad would have had us out shoveling the driveway. And while we were shoveling he would have been calling the neighbors asking if they wanted us to shovel their driveway. Which have been ok, if he wouldn’t have taken a 45% sales commission.

But The SIS got to say inside and do laundry.

Anyway, my point is kids these days are soft, squishy, and taste like chicken.

Wimps!

(*there was no blizzard in ’78 that I can remember, I just made that up for dramatic purposes)

KU plays KSU tonight in the Sunflower Showdown, 7 pm on channel 38 on Direct TV. (I have no idea what channel it is on for Time Warner and Dish Networks cause those systems suck donkey balls.) KSU has not beaten KU in Bramlage Coliseum since 1983, that’s 25 years. (Bramlage opened in ‘88). Beasley is the highest scoring player in the big 12 this season to date. If KU shuts him down KU wins easy by 20. KSU is a one man band. Without Beasley we’d be talking 0’fers for KSU. I'll be watching with my crew at Tanners on 87th.

I’m so effin’ busy with work and a project at home I literally don’t have time to shit. But I had a huge break though with the project at home so hope fully things run smoothly from here on out.

Weekend Wrap Up Part 2: Saddle Ranch and Banana Joe's

After Danny's we went over to The Saddle Ranch Chop House. You know it's going to be a good time when you get to a bar at 10 PM and some drunk chicks are already dancing on the bar. It's too bad there asses were better looking that their faces. (Their asses weren't even that good.)

I especially like this one. Check out the dude in the orange hat with the Abe Lincoln beard. Think he's ever seen girls on dancing on a bar before? Hilarious!

And 50 years old perverts trying to look under their skirts. Hilarious and disturbing at the same time.

We had car bombs!!:

Then we ventured next door to Banana Joe's. According to their Myspace Page:

Banana Joe's is one of 4 bar atmosphere's under one roof! Margarita Mama's to sit down and eat some Mexican cuisine, Banana Joe's where you have 2 bars and top 40/pop/hip hop music and MIX 93.3 on Saturday nights!, Slingshots, which is a country/rock bar...and Q104 is broadcasting live from there on Friday nights! Velvet Room, is a martini lounge, where you can just relax and hang out with your friends!!

We walk into Banana Joe's and get some drinks at the first bar, Margarita Mama's. Which was really dead so we got some drinks (NOT margaritas, those are for chicks and the gheys, not that there's anything wrong with that) We pay the 5 dollar cover, and get vandalized:

The good thing about this vandalization is that it was with a dry marker (the kind you use on a dry erase board, you know the white ones) so it washed off the next morning with no trouble.

So we are wondering around the second bar, Banana Joe's which was playing some rock music that I can't remember with some crazy as light show going on. Stop at the next bar and get more shots and drinks (I'm drinking Bacardi and Cokes at this point.)

We then wondered in to the 3rd bar Slingshots, its blasting the loudest county music I have ever heard. We then see and old friend from years ago who ends up managing Slingshots. He says to come the the back bar of Slingshots and he'll set us up with another round of shots and drinks. FUCK YEA! we think. As we get to the back bar we see more girls dancing on the bar.

(Sorry fellas, I didn't get a pic of her tramp stamp, you know her ass antlers, her Panama City license plate.)

About 20-30 minuets later we turn around and see one of the craziest things I have ever seen going on behind us on the bar. Some dude on his hands and knees with a saddle on his back and a chick riding him. WTF? Is all I can say. We all look at each other and say in unison "CAMERA!"

That Slingshots is one CRAZY place!

A few key points that I skipped over:

One being that fact that Mr. Awesome broke a sigh that had holes cut out of it for faces. Like the kind you would see at Disneyland or some amusement park. It looked kind of like this.

But not exactly, but I think you get the idea. Only it had some kind of country western theme.

We also ran into a girl that we went to high school with. Get this the moron didn't know who I was, can you believe that? I mean who goes around this town NOT knowing who The D is? Seriously, lady get a fucking clue.

We never did make it in to the Velvet Room, maybe next time.

The whole place is a good time. I suggest you grab your friends and head on out west. Don't let the recent violence keep you away. (We saw at least 2 set of uniformed cops. I even knew one!) It's a good time.

First Date Fiasco

I just got back from the worst first date EVER! It was a complete train wreck. I want to get to bed so I'm just going to give you the bullet points and I might elaborate on them at a later date.

  • be ready at the specified time. Or at least be ready in like 5 min. Don't make me wait 30 min OUTSIDE! In the 30 degree weather.
  • don't make me chose which shoes go with your outfit. It's dinner and a movie for Christ sakes.
  • don't get THAT DRUNK!
  • don't tell me about all the drugs you used to do in high school. I could care less.
  • have something intelligent to say unless your not intelligent. (With the job you have and your education you should have something to intelligent to contribute)
  • on the off chance we run into some dude you know, don't tell me "I blew him in the Hurricane bathroom."
  • don't talk about your former fuck buddies. It's a turn off and makes you look like a complete slut. (like the one above doesn't?)

I should correct myself here, calling this a first date implies that there will be a second date... There won't be.

I'm just glad this one wasn't a set up.

I really know how to pick' em don't I?

Monday, I'll give you a complete review of that new multi bar out at The Legends. I was there Friday night.

New Years Day Reminder

Just wanted to remind all you homeowners (and some motivated apartment dwellers) that today is January 1st. Do you know what that means? No, you don't? Let me fill you in on one of the many rules that make my life so fucking awesome! And thusly makes your life more awesome by reason of osmosis, because you read this blog, or know me, or secretly want make sweet, sweet love to me.

Ever since I bought this house on Christmas Eve of 2004 I have put up Christmas lights on the outside of the house. When I closed on the house and took possession, the first place I went was to Target to get outdoor lights. On New Years Day of 2005 I instituted the Rule of Light Removal! Ever since then I have had the rule that all Christmas decorations, both inside and outside, MUST be removed, taken down, and or disposed of, on NYD. HUNGOVER OR NOT! There are no exceptions. (Exceptions being, if you're in the hospital, or the drunk tank. I have never been in either on a NYD anyway.)

If your hangover is too bad you can just toss them in a closet and then properly box them up at a later date if you want. (Been there done that.)

I don't want to see them in your apartment windows either. Take that SHIT down! It's offensive!

If you don't put up any Christmas decorations it's not my fault your an atheist and are going to hell.

Just be clad you don't live here.

FYI-I have already taken mine down, boxed them up and put them back in the closet.

New Post

Is that a generic title or what?

Just a quick "I'm sorry" to those of you that I texted or called last night at 2 am. If you didn't get one its prolly b/c 1) I don't have your number 2) I used to have your number but you bitched and whined so much about the last time I drunk dialed/texted you that I just deleted your number. Which also means we're not friends any more. 3) I didn't text every single person in my phone. So don't get your feelings hurt.

Now I need to walk up to The Twin and get my car and get some food. I still have a lot to do today. I thought a vacation was supposed to full of relaxation? I haven't relaxed once in the past week.

If your working this week then I feel sorry for you. I'm going sledging down suicide hill!

Peace Hommies!

Not much time

I don't have a lot of time before the big shindig tonight with the brothers and the Bro-in-law. Ladies if your out on the town tonight we'll be the four sexy mo-fo's at the bar! (You should start praying now that I don't drunk text you at 3 am tonight.)

So I'll just give you the Cliff Notes of todays happenings.

Went out to order the family portraits but ended up not getting any because I didn't have an appointment. Yea, you have to have an appointment to view and order the pics. How lame is that? Even thought I can view the pics online and even order them online. Stupid I say. (I'm willing to share them with you but only if you email me and I've meet you in person. You want to see these pics, believe me.)

Got my oil changed, no big deal there.

I also picked up some supplies that I needed for a organizations banquet that I have been in charge of for the past 2 year. The banquet has been held every January for the past 88 years. Some of my responsibilities are taking care of the budget, the invitations, coordinating the people that are in charge of the food and booze. And keeping a database of all of the members which now numbers into the hundreds. So today and last night I spent alot of time making the address labels and name tags for the existing members and organizing spread sheets so it will begin to move a lot smoother. Now that I plan to set up a web site and move the whole process into the 21st century, or is it 22nd century, whatevar. It's a lot of work which I volunteered to do 2 years ago. This will be the first year I am actually trying to move everything from paper invitations and paper mailings to more of a online database.

That's all I have time for folks.
Be cool my Hommies!

Shopping?!?!?

How come none of you jerks told me Christmas was Tuesday?

Now I have to do all my shopping tonight!

Here is the shake down:

  2. Football helmet for the nephew (5 yrs old). JcPenny's
  3. Clothes for the 3 year old niece (Children's Place or Mady & me)
  4. Clothes for the 8 month old (Children's Place or Mady & me)

That will take 4 shops and prolly 2 hours.

That ladies and gents is how you Christmas shop. I will be in and out of each shop in less that 30 minuets. If you prepare you save time and effort.

Mylow Open The Door?

As I'm sitting here working in my cube a song comes on my Ipod that I remember from my youth. It's by one of the greatest guitarist of one of the greatest bands of all time. The artist Pete Townsend from The Who.

I mention this to you today because, as I was listening to the song I remember thinking to myself. Self (that how I get myselfs attention when I have something to say to myself) "Who the hell is Mylow and why does he need to open the door?" At lease, that's what I used to think the title of the song was when I was much younger, like a teenager.

Well after years past I finally got a clue and figured out that the actual name of the song is "Let MY LOVE open the door."

Here's what I'm talking about.

I tell you this today because I know ALL of you have mucked up a song title or too in your day. I want to know which song, what you thought it was and what the real name of the song was.

Cause I know we have all done it.

Post Script: Joke Thursday gets posted at lunch.

Weekend Fun

Friday night I just chilled out at the house. Saturday The EYE-talian, Scooter, his wife, and I, (The D) went to the KU game at the Sprint Center.

Scooter scored some tix from someone that had VIP tickets to the Founders Room.

The beers were 7 BUCKS!!

Best 7 dollar beer EVAR!

On to the game! These 2 picks were taken one after the other. This one is not zoomed in at all (yea were way the fuck up there but they were kind enough to hand out free oxygen masks.)

And this one is taken right after with the FULL ZOOM!!

Doesn't that zoom just kick ass! (This is where you can insert your own joke about a zoom lens and my penis.)

Here I am concentrating on either the game or the cheerleaders or both. It was cold in the Sprint Area so I kept my scarf on the whole game.

And what kind of blogger would I be if I went to a sporting event and didn't include some cheerleader picks? Here ya, go your welcome;

That spot is some jerks bald head.

Here are some random game actions shots: HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!

Time out, Bill wants to talk this over.

Darrell Arthur at the line.

After the ass whipping we put on Ohio the 4 of us head over to McFadden's for some tasty libations.

These are random peeps.

I probably just said something inappropriate to some random chick. Oh, well!

After Mcfadden's we headed to Westport where Scooter dropped the EYE-Tailian and I off at Kelly's. I was rocking the Escalade!

We had one drink at Kelly's then we headed to the Point. Where I my buddy B.C. was working. We had a bunch of drinks there. Then The EYE-talian had to go cause he was wasted. I then headed down to J.J's to crashed a G.N.O that some of my pals were having. It made their night that I showed up.

When I got there Abby started yelling at me b/c I was "apparently" wearing my scarf wrong. So my new pal Baywatch fixed it.

I really don't know whats up with these faces I'm making.

No I wasn't drunk at ALL!

Anyway Peace out my Homies!
Thanks for reading!

Well Crap

This weekend was complete CRAP! I had 4 days off and don't have jack to show for it, except a sore back and shoulders and mountains of embarrassment. The longer I stay up tonight the more and more pissed off I get at myself for being so unproductive over those 4 days.

Last years Thanksgiving was good but this years totally blew as far as sports teams go, first the Jayhawks get rolled, then the Chiefs get whipped by the worst team in the league. Tonight the Kansas basketball team had to take Arizona into overtime to get the win.

Saturday night the EYE-talian and I went to see a friends band play at Mikes Westsider on Westport road. The band is called The Sunshine Destroyers, with a name like that you'd think they were a Kiss tribute band or some other hard rocking 80's metal band. Well you'd be wrong, they are NOT a hard rocking 80's band but, they are a good band. You should check them out.

After they closed at 1:30 we walked back to my house. The EYE-talian took off, and that is when it all went down hill (if it could get any worse with Kansas losing that night.) There's nothing worst in this world than a drunken smart-ass with a cell phone home alone drinking. It's a complete clishe (yea, that's probably spelled wrong, but I know someone will correct me.)

Anyway I sent out some pretty lame drunken text messages. (this is where the mountains of embarrassment come in) Some people that were lucky enough to receive them were pissed, because it woke them up at 4 am, some were like "MEH, It's The D that's what he does." Others didn't get them until they woke up the next morning and thought they were funny. But the vast majority of the people that I talked too today told me that the 4 am texting is getting old and I should probably stop it.

So I will, at least for the week, but I'm not guaranteeing any thing.

I'm pretty worn out so I'm hitting the hay right now.
Thanks for reading.
Peace!

LEAVES ME ALONE!

Friday I set out on the overwelming task of raking the leaves in my yard, it's not a big yard but it had a TON of leaves in it.

See what I mean:

This is the view from my drive way. My house is on the right.

This is the back yard. Yes, there is grass there.

Another view of the back yard from the drive way.

I blew all of the leaves from one side of the yard to the driveway. Then I started thinking I was in over my head.

This is the view from the street.

From half way up the driveway. Looking toward the garage.

From half way up the driveway. Looking back to the street.

And from the garage back down the drive way.

And now for the after picks. This only took me 6.5 hours to do the entire yard, pick them up, and put them in trash bags.

Back yard after.

Back yard after. Notice the deer in the bushes is now upright.

And the trash bags of all the mulched up leaves.

Now, I didn't actually rake any of the leaves. I used a Craftsman blower/sucker. It worked splendidly (now if I could just find a girl to do the same thing I'd be set) but after doing my entire yard on Friday and half of moms on Saturday (next weekend I get to finish moms yard) my back and shoulders are pretty sore from all that yard work.

Thanks for readin' y'all!

Friday Yard Work

I'm doing yard work today. I'm staring as soon as I'm done here. I have plenty of trash bags, my I pod is charged, I have gas (for the blower too!) So I'm pretty much set.

Wish me luck maybe I'll take before and after picks.

Thanksgiving Recap

This Thanksgiving was low key and stress free, as they all should be. The D.C. Krew didn't come in town and neither did my SiS and her family. They each went to their respective In-laws houses, but we'll have the whole clan in town for Christmas, which'll be nice. Mom didn't want to cook for just the four of us and C-boys 2 girls one of who is only 9 months old. She's still eating that goo they call baby food.

The SIL's father invited all of us to have lunch with all of their family at Plaza III (no, that's not Plaza one hundred and eleven it's Plaza 3) at 135th and Nall Avenue. They offered a traditional Thanksgiving meal and also had their whole menu available. Some people took advantage the full menu but mom and I had the turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It was good and I had no problems woofing (wolfing?) it down. Mom on the other hand didn't like the stuffing so I had it. She was right her's was bad, but mine was just fine. C-Boy and I had a good time hassling The Sil's aunt, who is an MU grad, about how bad her school is going to lose tomorrow.

After lunch I helped mom set up her Christmas tree. It's usually the SiS's job to set up the tree but since they didn't come in town she obviously couldn't set it up and get into the yearly Thanksgiving day argument about who made what ornaments and at what age.

This is a typical Thanksgiving day/putting up the tree argument.

(I'm paraphrasing here)

Mom: OH! Look how pretty this one is, I can still remember when K-dog made it, he was ten.

SiS: "No, he didn't I made that when I was 8 years old in Mrs. Watson's class.

Mom: "Shut up, you did not."

SiS: "I did too!"

Mom: (now yelling) "YOU DID NOT, I REMEMBER IT LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY! NOW SHUT UP AND PUT IT ON THE TREE!!!"

SiS: (now crying) "I'm not doing this next year."

And scene.

Good times, Good times.

Some traditions just can't live on forever.

After I put the tree together I bolted so I wouldn't get roped into putting on all the decorations. I needed to get home and take a dump. After said dump (everything came out alright thanks for asking) I took a 3 hour nap.

That was my thanksgiving.

I hope yours was just as stress free as mine was.

As always thanks for reading.

I'm Audi 5000.

The D Out.

Blog Rules

I have some unwritten rules that have govern my blogging from the beginning of this little page way back on April 13, 2006. Thought I'd write them down and share them with you. Think of them as my blog commandments.

  1. Don't any ones real name. Every name that you have ever read (except for the nieces and nephews) have been made up. I have too keep a key so I don't start confusing you, or myself.
  2. Don't post any pictures of any adult, but me and anonymous people that I don't know. I thought it might freak some people out, once they found out I had a blog, if their face was plastered all over the interweb without their permission.
  3. Don't blog at work. Whoops! Broke that one many times.
  4. Don't talk about bad about anyone that I know. Sure, I bad mouth celebrities and Fred Phepls and losers like that but they deserve it.
  5. No serious talk about my dating or sex life. My family reads this and I'm sure they don't want to hear all those details. I'll tell you about single dates but not once it rolls in to a relationship. (Like that's ever going to happen.)
  6. No inside jokes. This blog is public anyone with a computer can read it anywhere in the world. Inside jokes would ruin the fun for my reader in Iceland.
  7. Be funny, or at least try to be funny. If I think it's funny then it's going in the blog. It really doesn't matter if you think it's funny or not.
  8. NO PORN! Either of myself or anyone else. Unless its requested.

I could have sworn I had ten of these things but now I can't think of any more. If I think of more I'll update this post.

If you have a blog do you have rules the you follow? If so, what are they?

Thanks for reading.

UPDATE: I used to have a rule for my friends and family that stated they couldn't ask me about why I said something. (I had my reasons and didn't feel like I needed to explain every post to them.) They could tell me whether they liked a post, or thought I was an idiot, or not. But I have now reconsidered that rule and think it's dumb. That rule is no now abolished. Your welcome, so ask away, go ahead ask me anything! I dare ya!

McFadden's Sports Saloon

Friday night Mr. Awesome and I went down to check out the Zeros at McFadden’s Saloon in the new P&L District downtown. It’s your basic sports bar with lots of flat panel TV’s and cold beer.

But I have issues.

First off, if this is a chain of sports bars, and IF I have the correct web site linked then why does it not list Kansas City on their site? What are we second string? They say that there is one coming soon to Las Vegas, but what about the one you just opened 3 weeks ago in Kansas Fucking City? Are you not proud of it? Are you going to keep your K.C. location a secret like your retarded step child? It’s bush league, people! Update your fucking site! TODAY!! (Of course, if I don’t have the right web site linked then you can just ignore this whole paragraph.)

This was our first time to the new
Power & Light District and we really didn’t know our way around as far as parking went. We arrived about 8 or so and just parked in the first parking garage we could find and paid the 5 bucks, while walking up we saw that there was parking under McFadden’s for only 2 bucks, count that one for lack of experience.

When we got to
McFadden’s they check our I.D.’s (really, you’re going to check my ID? I’m thirty-fuckin'-seven. I don’t at least look like I’m 21? I was probably older that the dude checking I.D’s). The place was already packed, lots of people jammed in to the place. Apparently, they were having some kind of 80’s theme night, some of the bartenders were dressed like characters from 80’s movies, the girls were dressed like your typical Madonna types, with the big 80’s hair and lots of blue eye shadow. (Quite horrible I thought). Reggie and Scooter were already at the bar along with some other girls that we all knew.

The service was terrible when we were at the bar. Our bartender was “Iceman” from the Tom cruse movie “Top Gun”. With his Aviator sunglasses and crappy flight suite and the whole douche baggy attitude. When he was finished talking to another bartender about his sick dog crapping all over his crappy apartment. We finally got our over priced beers,
Boulevard Wheat for me and Coors Light for my buddies.

If this place is going to call its self a sports bar and take any business away from
Tanners (any location) or Johnny’s (any location) then they had better stop charging 4 bucks for a 10 oz draft of Coors Light. (That’s what they were charging during the KU football game on Saturday.) Because if they expect me to pay that much for a beer and then sit there and watch a sporting event and eat a meal then they are CRAZY! And just because you calm to be a sports bar or sports saloon or an Irish sports bar doesn’t mean you are one. I don’t know what a true Irish sports bar but this ain’t it. This is just a bar plain and simple. With lots of TV and loud rock music. There is nothing really special about it, if there was I missed it.

You had better get your kitchen in order also. Scooter waited for over AN HOUR for some chicken fingers and fries. Which he wasn’t happy about, and ladies and gentlemen if Scooter ain’t happy then ain’t nobody happy.

Some of the good qualities about the night were the over abundance of really good looking women. I would say that most of the women there were good looking or “top shelf” as I call them. But there really weren’t a lot of them. A good phrase to use to describe this would be “Quality over Quantity”. The quality of the women was high but the quantity was not. Which is usually what happens when the Zero’s play. When they play at the
Brooksider it’s quite the sausage fest.

Another good aspect of the night was the free shots. About once or twice and hour the lady bartenders would walk up and down the bar,on top of the bar, pouring shots of whatever they had into anyone that opened their mouths. Yea, I had my fair share of those.

They had a tent set up right outside the back door for the band to play in. They were also smart enough to put in a small bar (cash only) that served Boulevard Wheat and Coors Light so people wouldn’t have to fight the crowds to get back to the bar to get a drink. Another good play was the pot-a-johns they put outside (NOT inside the tent mind you, but just out side of it) for the girls to use.

Apparently, at least this is what I have heard, is that they (the owners of these bars in the P&L District) are getting some kind of special liquor license to be able to let people walk around outside with beers and or alcohol in sort of “to go cups” (If you’ve been to the French Quarter in New Orleans you know what I’m talking about.) You can’t just leave with a glass of Long Island Ice Tea, you just have too ask for a to go cup, whether that is a plastic or what ever type of cup is up the establishment. You currently can’t do that anywhere in Kansas City, which is galacticlly stupid if you ask me. But you certainly wouldn’t be able to bring said beverage into another bar. Would you?

Overall it was a good time but then again I could have a good time at a funeral as long as it was an open bar. I would defiantly recommend it as a place to meet before or after a game or concert.

My Day Off

Today I took some much needed PTO (Paid Time Off) for my birthday it's going to be a new part of Darukah. I took today, instead of yesterday, off because I had to make sure that the project I was working on was finished yesterday, and that all the "tee's" were dotted and the "eyes" were crossed.

So, today I slept in till about 9, took a shower and was out the door. After having a nice, healthy breakfast of Honey Nut Cheerio's (it's my fav) and birthday cake. I went out to Oak Park Mall to pick up some pants that I had bought last week, and roamed around Macy's for a few minuets but didn't find anything I liked. (But when I got home and checked out there web site I found the perfect jacket to go with a new shirt that I plan to wear on Saturday night. So I have to go back out on Saturday morning. No biggie.

I also stopped by Old Navy and bought a winter jacket that I have been bitching about not having. I bought this one:

So now, I finally have a winter coat (I also bought a scarf) but I still want a leather one. I was only there about 15 min because we men don't "shop" we purchase. We, or at least I, would rather find what I want on-line then go out to the store and buy it there. I don't mess around, I get in, find what I want, and get out. That way there is no over spending. (Yes, I am aware that I am contradicting myself from the first paragraph. I didn't find anything there because I was not prepared to buy anything at there. It was a last second decision to go to Macy's in the first place.)

Then I got may hair cut. The jury is still out if she did a good job or not.

All in all it as a good day and it only took me about 2 hours.

I was talking to my pal Lonnie tonight about all of the days happenings and she suggested that I should wait until Friday to buy any other clothes because that is when all of the really big sales are going to be happening. I was all why then? I didn't realize that it was going to be Black Friday. I told her I was going to get the jacket. But I will wait for anything else.

P.S. Drew Carry is terrible as the host of The Price is Right.

Birthday Day Recap

Yesterday was my birthday. I was out until 2 the night before after the blogger meet up so I was 20 min late for work. Needless to say, I had a lot of work to catch up on when my office phone range. It was my boss and his boss in a conference room wanting me to come see them. "OH FUCK," I thought, "I'm going to get fired on my birthday!"

As I walked to the conference room I was thinking of excuses as to why they couldn't fire me. But I didn't get fired. (WOOT!) It was my yearly performance review. I'm not going to go into all the details of all of the elements that are contained in my review, but overall I scored a 4 out of a possible 5 which puts me into the upper percentile of my co-workers (people that due the same job I do). No one ever gets a 5 out of 5, anyway. (Apparently my reputation at the company is the "Go to Guy" if a project is in danger of not meeting a deadline. Which I'm cool with, it could be the opposite. And I know it's because I'm single, everyone else is married or fucking lazy turds, and they think I have nothing better to do than work.) I'm just glad they didn't check the internet usage log or I would have been S.O.L. Or maybe they did and just don't care because none of my projects have ever missed a deadline or lost money.

So that was in the morning, when I was busting my hump to get my current project finished for a in house review, that was due at 12. I finished it at 11.

That night I went over to Moms for dinner with her and C-boy's family. His oldest daughter Sophia asked me what I was going to wish for in my birthday wish.

Sophia: "Uncle D, what are you going to wish for when you blow out that candles? Cause I know what you should wish for."

Uncle D: "I don't know, what should I wish for?"

S: "A baby!"

UD: "A BABY!"

S: "Yea, a baby!" (laughing)

UD: "Should I get a girlfriend first?"

S: "NO (shouting) just a baby!"

UD: Why do you think I need a baby?"

S: "Cause you don't have one and everyone else does."

UD: "How about I wish for a fast race car?"

S: "NO!! WISH FOR A BABY!" (she shouts demandingly)

UD: "OK, I'll wish for a baby." (I don't like arguing with 3 year old kids.)

S: "I win! Can I help you blow out your candles?"

UD: "Sure"

(I'm not telling you what I wished for.)

As far as presents go, I received gift cards to Macy's, Old Navy, and Nordstroms. The I came home and got caught up on all the Heroes episodes that I missed.
