Birthday Weekend Part 3 "The Incubation"
Continuing our story of the birthday weekend.
On November 11 my good friends Lonnie and Burt took me out for drinks. I was pretty tired from being hung over the night before but I'm a trooper and they were buying so I forged ahead with a positive attitude. I knew we were going to some classy places so I wore flat front slacks and a nice shirt, thinking I would meet a few nice women. We were later joined by Katie who is a good friend of Lonnie's. Katie really funny, and a pleasure to be around. I had meet her a few times before and consider her a friend even though we hardly ever hang out, sort of a friend of a friend, you know what I mean?
Anyway, we meet up at Kona Grill on the plaza to finish watching the last part of some college football had some laughs and good times there.
We then meet up with some other girl friends of mine, and Lonnie's at a place called JP's Wine Bar.
Now, lets discuss this place for a second. First off the place is nice and clean. Not like Harpos in Westport where you can get VD from just walking in there (yes it's an MU bar and I hate MU). This was my first time being there. At first glance I thought this was a gay bar. There were entirely too many dudes, all dressed like metro's. For those of you not familiar with the term "metro or Metro Sexual" allow me to elaborate. A Metro Sexual is a man that is just one blow job from being full on Liberace Gay. They dress gay, they take hours to get ready before they go out, and they don't know shit about sports. So ladies if you like that kind of dude (I say dude because they as certainly not men) then go there and have fun. But I bet you will get judged on your clothing choices. The service was crappy too we waited for about 20 min at the bar before we got our drinks and then found a table. Overall I would only go there again if a woman dragged me there and if she promised some kind of sexual touching.
After that we left there and went to Kelly's in Westport (I know I was there the night before but so what, it is close enough to the house so I can walk home if I want). There were some really wasted people there. Like these 2 girls that were with these 2 frat fags. When I mean wasted I mean WASTED they were so drunk that they not stand. There boyfriends (or whatever) had to carry them out of the bar in their arms. It was really a sad sight too see.
Burt bought me a red Kelly's t-shirt that is currently too small but it will soon fit with the diet and all that.
We left about 2 a.m. and called it a night.
I know does not sound like it was as much fun as the night before but I can't get wasted 2 nights in a row anymore, I'm 36 years old for christ-sakes! I'm not a machine! (nor an alcoholic).
But the night was a good time, we had a good time catching up and just "visiting" as my grand-mother would say. I wish I had more nights like that where we could all just sit around a shoot the shit.
That was birthday party Number 2.
Next, will be Birthday party number 3 (obviously) which was a group thing.
