I am a Fantasy Football Genius
Have I told you that I am a fantasy football genius? I have been in a league for the past 12 years, mostly made up of friends from high school. I have told you about a couple of them, Mr. Awesome, and Reggie.
The first couple of years I had no idea what I was doing, but then I started doing my homework and I became a man with the plan. (No, I will not tell you my secret to my success.) For the last ten years I have drafted, not the top running back or quarterback in the league but having the 2nd or 3rd quarterback in running back plus pulling off some real blockbuster trades have suited me quite well.
I have cemented my place of honor among the world’s top Fantasy Football team owners. I am a 3 time Superbowl champion (1999, 2001, and 2003. In 2003, I was the first owner in the history of our league to unite the titles of Overall champion, and Superbowl Champion. In those years that I did not win our Superbowl I was still a participant and have been every year since then.
In the 12 years that the Jayhawk Fantasy Football League has been in existence we have only replaced one owner, and that was because his top pick (Michael Vick) broke his leg in the last preseason game and was out for most of the season. Man, was he pissed off when we would not let him have a supplemental draft pick. He was so pissed that he quite the following season. So we replaced him with some one just as incompetent. (Who is stupid enough to pick Michael Vick as the first overall pick, anyway, dumbshit)?
But this year is different; we changed some rules that will no longer allow me to keep one of the most dominant running backs in the league, LaDamion Tomlinson from San Diego.
This year I have the 8th pick overall in the draft so most of the really dominant running backs will all be taken so I will probably have to go with a quarterback like Manning or Palmer. Also our draft order goes from 1-10 and then 10-1 (its called a serpentine draft) So I have the 8th pick overall and the 13th pick overall so if I pick up Manning I will go with his top wide receiver (most likely Marvin Harrison) or I could go with Carson palmer and Chad Johnson from Cincinnati. This is very logical based on our scoring system. For example, when Manning throws a touchdown pass to Harrison I will get 12 points, six for a passing touchdown and six for a receiving touchdown, plus points for a passing yards and points for receiving yards. This is what most fantasy owners don’t get it.
I am also in a league at a well known bar in Lenexa along with Reggie. We have not done much in that league as far as winning the Superbowl but every year we make the playoffs. Plus because of side bets with other teams we always win a couple hundred bucks every year. If I won the Superbowl in that league my fellow owners would split $2500 bucks.
In my third league I was asked by a friend to help her run her team. Basically she will pay the fee and I will manage her team. Plus she is really good looking and I might get to see her new boobies or maybe a make out session with some heavy petting.
Wish me luck!
Come back later to day for the Thursday Joke
