It Begins...

Today begins my astrological birthday month. I’m a Scorpio. I know you’re all jealous of that fact because everyone knows that we Scorpios kick some major ass!

Some major people through out history have been Scorpios. One being me “The D” I have a web site to prove it (you’re reading it now.) but some lesser know famous people are Carl Sagan, Academy Award (not once but twice) winner Jodie Foster, Indira Gandhi, (Who’s that ya say? Only the first and only female Prime Minister of India, GAH who doesn’t know that?) Princess Grace Kelly, Marie Antoinette, President Theodore Roosevelt, and Bill Gates just to name a few. For you younger kids how about Maggie Gyllenhall, Ryan Gosling, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joaquin Phoenix, which I think is pronounced "whack keen feonix."

Although I don’t rely on the daily horoscopes to make my life decisions, I do put some stock in some personality traits that we Scorpios have been blessed upon us by the crazies that made up these Zodiac signs back in the day. Such as that we are passionate (insert sexy French phrase), penetrating (hehe penetrating), and determined (fuck ya!). Although I am not really that talkative, at least in person when I first meet you, or speak volumes or show my emotions readily, yet rest assured there's an enormous amount of activity happening beneath the surface. We are excellent leaders, the Scorpion is always aware. When it comes to resourcefulness, we always come out ahead.

Some of the good things about our personality traits for us Scorpios are, determined, forceful, emotional, intuitive, powerful, passionate, exciting, and magnetic. I really don’t agree with most of those but you might if you know me in person you might agree, or maybe those traits might come though from this blog.

I figure if I’m going to list the good then I have to list the bad also. Some of the more negative traits are, jealousy, resentfulness, compulsiveness, obsessiveness, secretive, (I really don’t see how this is a negative. I keep secrets very well, but can be bought for the right price.) and obstinate. Most of which I am not (at least I don’t think so) and yea I had to look up obstinate also and I will say that yes I am obstinate. If I understand the definition correctly, and I think I do.

I would also agree what it says about how I treat my friendships and my family:

Sincerity and truth are strong components of the Scorpion's friends. It can take some time before really close bonds are formed, but once done, the Scorpion will remain dedicated and loyal. (I’ve been running with the same crew since high school and some of them, grade school) Witty and intellectual? Witty yes, I think so. But intellectual? Umm, that’s debatable.

We prefer companions who are humorous and easygoing. Full of surprises, we will give you the shirt off our backs if that's what you need; yet, once they are crossed, look out there's no turning back. (I could tell you some stories about this kind of stuff.) They feel deeply, and once hurt, it can be impossible to turn things around. Commitment to family is strong and consistent with the Scorpion. They are exceptionally helpful in managing affairs, and they are excellent advocates when one is needed.

And a bonus for you single ladies is that Scorpios are the strongest of the sexualities in the zodiac. Incredibly passionate, the Scorpion takes intimacy seriously. (I don't kiss and tell.) Partners need to be intelligent and honest. Much of the foreplay for this sign happens long before the bedroom through conversation and observation. Once in love, they are devoted and loyal to the death. But relationships can take some time. The Scorpion needs to build trust and respect for a potential mate slowly and thoroughly.

In conventional social gatherings they are pleasant to be with, thoughtful in conversation, dignified, and reserved, yet affable and courteous.

Yup, that's me all right!

In their everyday behavior they give the appearance of being withdrawn from the center of activity, yet those who know them will recognize the watchfulness that is part of their character. They need great self-discipline, because they are able to recognize the qualities in themselves that make them different from other humans, and to know their utterly conventional natures can be used for great good, or great evil.

What am I a super hero? (of course I am)

Some of the things we like are, truth, hidden causes, being involved, work that is meaningful, and being persuasive.Who doesn't like that stuff?

Some of our dislikes, being given only surface data,(we want the whole freakin' story and don't sugar coat it!) Being taken advantage of (like that tramp down the street did to me), demeaning jobs, shallow relationships, flattery and flattering (I usually don't take flattery very well once it gets to a certain point. I am also not good at giving it out, I try to make it genuine but it usually back fires.)

Every sign has a “ruling planet” ours sadly is Pluto which isn’t even considered a planet now, so I guess were screwed there.
