Days like these...
...remind me why I am so AW-FUCKIN'-SOME!
It all started with the alarm blaring, I rolled over checked the time, it was 6 a.m I then rolled back over until 6:45 bounced out of bed and got ready for work as I usually do, nothing really out of the ordinary.
I stop by the dry cleaners to drop off my work clothes. They have some new lame ass computer system I think it's a Commodore 64, or Atari 2600, I'm not sure which. She asked me my last name instead of telling her what it is, I just spell it for her, needless to say she gets it wrong any way. They do a crappy job any way but they are cheap as shit and with in walking distance so I say what the fuck and keep using them.
Anyway I get to work and I have this email from my boss asking if there was any one else who was thinking about taking July 5th and 6th off I of course did not hesitate to set up some PTO those days. So I snagged those day off like a champ which means that weekend will rock the Hizzouse! It will start with Def Leopard Styx and Foreigner at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Plus some chick that we know, knows some dude that owns a limo company. So guess what were takin' a limo to the show!! AND we have it until 2 in the morning. How jealous are you right now?
But wait theres MORE!!!!
This afternoon my boss comes into my cube and tells me that I am so fan-fuckin'-tastic he is going to put me in charge of ANOTHER project.
Along with the other 2 projects I am already in charge of but I am just in charge of the mechanical aspects of those projects. On this new project I am not only in charge of the mechanical, but also in charge of the rest of the building disciplines.
Now let me explain my position so everyone gets on the same page. My title is Mechanical Designer. I am NOT an engineer. The engineers do all the tough math and select the equipment to put in the building or whatever type of structure it is, they also do the calculations to determine the sizes of the pipes and duct work to use for the plumbing and other mechanical piping and HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning). I on the other hand decide where in the structure all that stuff will be located, pipe routing and duct routing, and I have to make sure it will all fit. I am also responsible for all of the mechanical drawings. Making sure they fit specific company standards and or client standards.
Now, when I am in charge the entire project the amount of drawings could easily be in to the thousands of individual sheets depending on the size and scope of the project. Along with making legends and other details sheets.
I'm pretty pumped about this opportunity it will be my first project that I'm in charge of ALL of the CAD (computer added drafting) aspects. It's defiantly a great opportunity to show management that I totally kick-fuckin'-ass!!
The drawback is that I will have more than twice the responsibility (and work load) than I do now but with the same pay. But that will all work out at the end of year when they start handing out raises and bonuses.
But wait there is even more good news!! (I know I said holy shit too)!!
Along with all of that I weighed in at 178.5 lbs tonight!!
But wait...
O.K. I'm just messing with you. That's it.
Peace Out!
