The D's Story
These are just the Cliff Notes.
After I graduated from high school in 1989 I spent the summer in Boise, Idaho with my mothers sister (my aunt) and her family. I went to Kansas City Kansas Community Collage for about 2 semesters but found out that I was not mature enough for college, I ended up just going to class to find out what everyone was doing that night. So I quite school and worked a couple of bullshit jobs. With my sister and older bother in college at that time I Knew that I have to get a real job and get on with my life. So I joined the Marine Corps in October of 1990. (I will have more on my Marine Corps life in later post). I was Honorably discharged from the Corps in October of 1994.
I got a job with a fire sprinkler company fabricating pipe for fire sprinkler system. I was promoted 9 months later to materials (reading blue prints and making material list. After doing that job for 2 years I was promoted again to the position of designer. Now, this is a job that all of my peers had college degrees and I only had a couple of college credits. I was then offered a position with a company in Saint Louis doing the job but for a lot more money.
So I moved to Saint Louis and worked for the company for 5 years. I liked working there, but HATED living there. So I asked for and received a transfer to back to good old Kansas City. I worked with that office still doing the design of fire sprinkler systems for that company until January of 2005. I then went back to the first company and did design for about 3 months and then was promoted to the position of Estimator. I was in that position for about 2 months before I realized that the company and position sucked really big donkey dicks.
So I quite on a whim and was out of a job for the first in my life for about 6 weeks. I then found a job working for a local engineering firm that I really like. Although I don't do the engineering for sprinkler systems I do draw mechanical systems for new office buildings all around the world (but I don't do any traveling).
That is me in a nutshell. I am currently 35 years old and single.
tomorrow I will tell you about my weekend.
Stay tuned...
